Wallabies abroad: Horwill returns for Harlequins

While there was plenty of action among the Six Nations at the weekend, club rugby rolled on across Europe.

Here's how each of the Aussies abroad fared.

Ed Fidow nabbed a double for Bordeaux but it wasn't enough to get past Joe Tomane's Montpellier, who eked out an 11-10 win.

Nick Frisby, Leroy Houston and Ben Volavola also lined up for Bordeaux in the loss.

Sitaleki Timani, Peter Betham and Clermont couldn't get past Curtis Browning, Mitch Inman and Oyonnax, the latter pair claiming bragging rights after Betham scored a late try to set up a grandstand finish.

Mike Harris and Liam Gill couldn't get Lyon past Castres but Ben Mowen and Pau were too good for a star studded Racing 92, claiming a 24-15 win.

Zack Holmes crossed for Toulouse as they beat Brive 45-28, with Semi Radradra shifting to outside centre in Toulon's 27-20 win.


Ben Tapuai's Bath snuck past Sale with a 33-32 win but James Horwill wasn't as successful in his return to Harlequins, falling 28-10 to Newcastle.Horwill crossed for Quins in his return. Photo: Getty ImagesExeter's clash with Northampton was similarly thrilling, as Lachie Turner earned bragging rights over Rob Horne with a 31-30 win.

Matt Toomua and Tatafu Polota-Nau dragged Leicester over the line against Dom Day's Saracens, the former slotting four conversions in the 28-20 win.

Oli Hoskins, Jake Schatz and London Irish proved too strong for Worcester, claiming a 22-9 win.


Cruze Ah-Nau's Zebre were no match for Cardiff in a dour affair.

Zebre trailed 10-7 at the break and neither side troubled the scorers in the second half.
