Hold Back the River kicks off on Sunday January 21. Take a sneak peek at the first episode now.

Boom Australian Women's Sevens rookie Page McGregor has signed her first professional contract, capping a meteoric rise over the past 12 months.

McGregor starred for Macquarie University throughout the Aon Uni 7s series, catching the eye of coach Tim Walsh.

A World Series debut in Dubai followed, where she again impressed in scoring a try in her first match of a triumphant tournament for the Australians.

Now, the 18-year-old has locked in a deal that will see her compete with the remainder of the squad for a coveted spot in the squad that will take on the Sydney Sevens.McGregor has been a rising star for some time. "She is a product of the elite pathway that we have been building and shows the high standards required to make it as Aussie Women’s Sevens player.

"She’s as tough as they come, a pocket rocket as tough as nails.

"I can’t wait to see her mature as a professional player in the next few years."

The Sydney Sevens kick off on Friday, January 26, at Allianz Stadium. Buy tickets here.
