It was almost a carbon copy of their last outing. The Brumbies entered half time just in front but the Hurricanes dominated the second 40. The Wellington side running out winners 35-16 at GIO Stadium to advance to the semi-finals.

There'll be no Aussie input into the 2017 Super Rugby semi-finals after the Brumbies were knocked out in their quarter-final loss to the Hurricanes in Canberra on Friday night.

Winners from the weekend's quarters were the Hurricanes, Chiefs, Crusaders and the Lions.

The Hurricanes will travel to Johannesburg to take on the Lions while the Chiefs head to Christchurch to take on the Crusaders.
