Australia's Olympic gold medal-winning Sevens team will become foes this weekend, in their first competitive hitout since Rio.

The Aussie squad has been split into two teams for this weekend's Central Coast Sevens, which will also feature the Aussie Men's Sevens and the Olympic champion Fijian side.

Shannon Parry, Charlotte Caslick, Emma Tonegato and Chloe Dalton make up part of the Aussie Pearls Gold team, while Sharni Williams, Alicia Quirk and Emilee Cherry will play for the Aussie Pearls Green team.

This weekend's tournament will be their first since August's historic Olympic win that came off the back of their maiden World Series win.

With next season's roster yet to be confirmed, the tournament could give some of the team's next generation a shot at impressing women's coach Tim Walsh.

The Central Coast Sevens kicks off on Sasturday October 22, at Wyong Rugby League club.
