Brumbies playmaker Christian Lealiifano has arrived in Wallabies camp, three days out from the first Test against England.
Lealiifano remained in Canberra with his partner Luga Lam-Young, who gave birth to their first child, Jeremih ahead of joining the Wallabies.
The Brumbies flyhalf made it into Brisbane late on Wednesday night, leaving him effectively just one day to crack the match day 23, though there was never pressure on him to rush into camp.
Prior to the squad announcement, Lealiifano would have been in strong consideration for Wallabies selectors at the inside centre spot, as one of the form Super Rugby backs in the Australian Conference.
His absence during camp on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane this week has made things difficult for the 28-year-old, but his close relationship with Wallabies assistant and Brumbies head coach Stephen Larkham makes selection decisions less clear cut.
With only one playmaker in flyhalf Bernard Foley, it wouldn't be inconceivable for Lealiifano to be named for Saturday night's opening Test, although Wallabies coach Michael Cheika has given nothing away in the lead-up to the three Test series opener at Suncorp.
Lealiifano hasn't played a Test since the 2014 Spring Tour but has been one of the standout playmakers in the Super Rugby competition this season.
His Brumbies teammate Matt Toomua also joined the squad on Wednesday on his return from a knee injury, but isn't back into full training yet.
Cheika is set to name his team for Saturday's Test on Thursday.
