Michael Cheika has brushed off the Eddie Jones' attempts to start a slanging match as the Wallabies welcome two old faces into camp.

Toulon has secured a week off to start the Top 14 playoffs, after a 44-3 win over Bordeaux overnight.

Toulon needed a bonus point win to leapfrog Montpellier into second spot and they did that comprehensively against their rivals on Monday morning.

Fullback James O’Connor finished off a 95-metre attacking move to seal the match for Toulon in the 75th minute, with the final try of the match.

Matt Giteau played the full match at flyhalf for Toulon, continuing a solid injury comeback.

With the win, Toulon relegated Bordeaux and Wallabies back Adam Ashley-Cooper to seventh place, ending their playoffs hopes.

Montpellier let their shot at second spot go, with a 40-25 loss to Racing 92 overnight.

Jesse Mogg played the full game at fullback for Montpellier, who finish third overall in the top 14 standings.

All Blacks star Dan Carter didn’t feature in the match, after some injury concerns in recent weeks.

Peter Kimlin’s Grenoble had a rough end to their Top 14 campaign, going down to Toulouse 53-14 in their final match.

Grenoble finished 10th overall in the Top 14 this season, with 10 wins and 16 losses.

Clermont and Toulon will have a first-week playoffs bye, with Montpellier, Racing 92, Toulouse and Castres Olympique fighting it out in the quarter-finals.
