Former Wallaby Stephen Hoiles has urged star Sevens youngster Henry Hutchison and the Aussie Sevens team to keep level heads as Rio approaches.
Hoiles, speaking on rugby.com.au, said the side would be receiving plenty of praise after three straight Cup semi-final appearances but they would need to continue to improve.
“I think his talent shows he has got a huge future ahead of him, he’s scoring tries that not many players would,” he said.
“I love a player that in a tough situation, can find a way to get to the try line.
“He’s not a big guy by any means but he’s strong and he’s powerful.”
While Hutchison’s finishing skills have been on show in recent tournaments Hoiles said there was a long road left.
“He’s getting a lot of pats on the back but if you’re watching Henry...just keep your feet on the ground mate,” he said.
“We’re really liking what you’re doing but at the same thing, as with the Aussie Sevens, they’re getting a lot of pats on the back at the moment and the test will come (later in the year).
“Sides are going to start blooding their best players later on in the year, so we’re improving and got to be happy with where we are at but there’s still room for improvement.”
