The Cheetahs scrum half Sarel Pretorius has received a clean sweep of the votes in this week’s rugby.com.au poll which asked fans which player they thought has been the best buy amongst the South African Super Rugby teams so far this tournament.

Fans had the choice of Elton Jantjes and Jaco Taute, both recruited to the Stormers, Lionel Mapoe in the Bulls, Argentina’s Nicolas Vergallo who joined South Africa’s new Super Rugby team, the Southern Kings and Sarel Pretorius, who this year returned to his South African Cheetahs side following a stint with the NSW Waratahs last year.

Pretorius received the majority of votes on 63%, while the other players clearly trailed with Elton Jantjes coming in second on 14%, Jaco Taute on 9%, Lionel Mapoe on 8% and Nicolas Vergallo on 6% of the votes.

With 56 Super Rugby caps under his belt, Pretorius has indeed proved a solid asset for the Cheetahs so far in the 2013 Super Rugby competition scoring two tries in the Cheetahs fourth game against the Highlanders.

The star scrum half has made a big contribution to the Cheetahs winning form in the Super Rugby tournament, who have so far recorded two wins from four games after defeating the Highlanders and NSW Waratahs.

This week we’re asking Rugby fans who they think is the best buy amongst the New Zealand Super Rugby teams, All Black powerhouses, Ma’aa Nonu and Brad Thorn for the Highlanders, Gareth Anscombe who moved from the Auckland Blues to the Chiefs, Ben Franks in the Hurricanes or Highlanders recruit Chris Noakes for the Blues.

Fans can have their say in the poll now at rugby.com.au.
