Wallabies flanker Michael Hooper has been cited for his involvement in a ruck in Australia's win over England.

Hooper was cited by the independent citing commissioner for alleged foul play and contravening law 10.4 - charging into a ruck or maul without the use of arms or grasping a player.

The incident occurred in the 39th minute of the Wallabies' 33-13 win over England and Hooper was penalised at the time but not yellow carded.

Hooper's hearing will take place at 10am on Tuesday October 6 at the Rugby World Cup offices.

Australia faces Wales on Saturday in the battle for Pool A top spot.
