Over a career that spanned eight years from 1974-1982 McLean gained 30 Test caps and 40 non-Test caps and set numerous points scoring records.
He was also part of the famous 1979 Wallabies side that won back the Bledisloe Cup for the first time in 30 years.
McLean is also widely acknowledged as one of the key figures in re-establishing the credibility of not only Australian Rugby but also Queensland Rugby.
