Reliable lock ROB SIMMONS has become a mainstay in the Qantas Wallabies starting line-up, missing only two Test matches since the start of 2013. The lineout general started every match in 2014 and was a crucial part of the Wallabies’ forward pack, highlighted by his standout series against the touring French where he was the only lock to start in every Test. Simmons was also an anchor and standout performer during the 2014 Rugby Championship and Spring Tour and deservedly achieved his 50th cap in the final Spring Tour match against England. For the Queensland Reds, Simmons celebrated success early in his career when the team claimed the 2011 Super Rugby title and in recent seasons has assumed a stronger leadership role, culminating in his elevation to the vice-captaincy for the 2015 season. The 26-year-old has also inked a multi-year contract extension with the Reds and Australian Rugby through to the end of 2017.
