NICK PHIPPS emerged from a talented crop of young scrumhalves to gain a firm grip on the Qantas Wallabies number nine jersey in a career-best 2014 campaign. Phipps one of the few players to make an appearance in every Test for the Wallabies last season, never looking back after he was handed the starting role during The Rugby Championship and ended the year with nine consecutive starts. In 2015, Phipps’ ever-maturing presence around the ruck for the NSW Waratahs and his lethal combination with flyhalf Bernard steered the men in sky blue towards another Super Rugby finals appearance. The 27-year-old signed a two-year contract extension with Australian Rugby that will take him through until the end of the 2017 season, where he will also look to build on his 28 Test caps.
