Castrol EDGE Strongest Performer

Israel Folau has attracted the highest number of votes from Fairfax Media’s panel of nine Rugby experts during the Castrol EDGE France Tour to claim the Castrol EDGE Strongest Performer award.

The stylish Fullback featuring heavily in the Qantas Wallabies three-Test clean-sweep of French Internationals which saw the 193cm powerhouse cross the line three times throughout the series.
James Slipper’s Man of the Match performance in Game 1 at Suncorp Stadium secured the prop second position with 22 points while captain Michael Hooper shares third place honours with try-scoring debutant Will Skelton on 21 points.

Each week during the 2014 Castrol EDGE France Tour, Fairfax’s panel of leading Rugby writers, which includes some of Australia’s top Rugby scribes such as including Paul Cully, Peter FitzSimons, Matt Burke, Georgina Robinson and Rupert Guinness vote for the best-performing Qantas Wallabies.

Points are allocated on a three, two, one basis by each panelist, with the player with the highest points tally at the end of the tournament being awarded the Castrol EDGE Strongest Performer of the Series award.
