Teachers don't need to have had Rugby Union experience to help them grow and recognise participation in Rugby Union at their school. EdRugby gives access to a number of resources and activities to cater for all levels of experience and exposure to the game.
EdRugby uses a modified, non-tackling version of Rugby that provides an opportunity for boys and girls of all ages and abilities to safely play the game. Some of the modifications include:
• smaller field size to ensure maximum player involvement
• reduced number of players to increase participation
• use of modified equipment
• the tackle is replaced by a two handed tag
• no pushing in scrums and jumping in lineouts
Importantly modifed Rugby provides teachers with the opportunity to deliver a game to students that is safe and enjoyable, promotes teamwork, leadership and sportsmanship, and can be played by all students irrespective of their age, skill level or ability.
We are proud to produce a modified game that can be used in schools. Rugby Union is a game that develops leadership, teamwork, courage, sportsmanship and friendship.
The IRB has announced its match officials list for the second stage of the 2014 IRB Junior World Championships overnight, with two Australians appointed to referee two of the games in New Zealand on Sunday.
We’re excited to announce that Australian Rugby will be moving to a new online system for national competition management and participant registration for the 2014 Rugby Sevens season and the 2015 club Rugby season.
We’re set for an exciting year with plenty to look forward to in 2014, including our Qantas Men’s Sevens team competing in the Commonwealth Games (July), the Women’s Rugby World Cup in France (August) and the launch of a new domestic competition – the National Rugby Championship (August).
