Host Zones are in the final stages of preparations for the 2013 NSW Country Junior Rugby Union Championships.

The championships showcase the best young rugby talent throughout Country NSW over three weekends in three different country locations, Moree, Coffs Harbour and Ourimbah. 56 teams covering age groups from U12’s to U18’s, representing 8 NSW Country Junior Zones and comprising of 1288 players and 224 coaching and support staff, will be vying for the title of NSW Country Junior Rugby Union Champions in their respective age groups.

Representative Zone teams from Illawarra, Central West, Central Coast, Hunter, Mid North Coast, Central North and Far North Coast will converge on each of the host towns on the Friday afternoon in readiness for a full weekend of top quality junior rugby. In all 98 matches will be played, culminating with the final of each age division on the Sunday afternoon, and the crowning of the age champion.

Also up for grabs, for players in the U14’s to U18’s age groups, is selection into the Junior Cockatoos representative teams. The best 23 players from each age group will be selected to represent NSW Country Junior Rugby Union. Each Junior Cockatoo team will then go into a number of training camps and play numerous trial matches in preparation for the annual, and hotly contested City v’s Country clash, which this year will be hosted by City at the picturesque and historic North Sydney Oval on Sunday 28 July.

Admission to the Championships is free and organisers are hoping for a strong turnout of locals and inter zone supporters, who will be able gorge themselves on an absolutely fantastic smorgasbord of high quality Junior Rugby.
