Media are invited to attend and cover the new Rugby 7s for Year 7s competition on the Central Coast tomorrow Friday 24 February at Brisbane Water Secondary College, Woy Woy.
Approximately 200 students will participate in modified games of Rugby Sevens as 16 teams from 13 schools across the area compete in the newly formed competition.
Teams will be playing for the Jesse Parahi Cup, named after local Kincumber High School graduate and current Qantas Men’s Sevens player Jesse Parahi who will be in attendance for the final hour of the competition to present the winners with the Jesse Parahi Cup.
Jesse played junior Rugby for Avoca Beach Rugby Union Football Club and represented CHS, NSW and Australian Schoolboys in Rugby.
Rugby 7s for Year 7s - The Jesse Parahi Cup is supported by the NSW Department of Education & Training, Central Coast Junior Rugby Union, Central Coast Rugby Union Referees Association and the local junior Rugby Clubs on the Coast.

The IRB has announced its match officials list for the second stage of the 2014 IRB Junior World Championships overnight, with two Australians appointed to referee two of the games in New Zealand on Sunday.
We’re excited to announce that Australian Rugby will be moving to a new online system for national competition management and participant registration for the 2014 Rugby Sevens season and the 2015 club Rugby season.
We’re set for an exciting year with plenty to look forward to in 2014, including our Qantas Men’s Sevens team competing in the Commonwealth Games (July), the Women’s Rugby World Cup in France (August) and the launch of a new domestic competition – the National Rugby Championship (August).
