We asked you, the fans and general public, to send in your photos, as the Webb Ellis Trophy “Bill” travels to schools and clubs around the Country as part of Try Rugby’s One Team Roadshow.
After visiting 8 states, 62 Schools, 25 clubs and just under 16,000 participants, the Roadshow has come to a close.
We had the very difficult decision to choose one photo to rein supreme and receive a signed (by both opposing captains) actual match ball from the Bledisloe Cup match at Suncorp Stadium in August this year.
We felt this wasn’t enough and also awarded a second and third place, who will also each receive a signed match ball from the 2010 Test Match Series as well as other Qantas Wallabies supporter/playing gear.
We received a large amount of entries from both School and club players, all in contention for the best photo with Bill. After much deliberation, here are your winners:
EQUAL THIRD PLACE: Oscar Mason, Year 4, St. Columbians Primary Schools, Mayfield NSW & Burt the big Croc, Crocosauraus Cove, Darwin City NT
SECOND PLACE: Year 5 at Quinns Baptist College, Mindarie WA
FIRST PLACE: Adrian Cooper, U11, Palm Beach Currumbin Alleygators QLD
Congratulations to all winners and thank you to all who sent in their photos.
Be Bold, Wear Gold, GO THE QANTAS WALLABIES!
The IRB has announced its match officials list for the second stage of the 2014 IRB Junior World Championships overnight, with two Australians appointed to referee two of the games in New Zealand on Sunday.
We’re excited to announce that Australian Rugby will be moving to a new online system for national competition management and participant registration for the 2014 Rugby Sevens season and the 2015 club Rugby season.
We’re set for an exciting year with plenty to look forward to in 2014, including our Qantas Men’s Sevens team competing in the Commonwealth Games (July), the Women’s Rugby World Cup in France (August) and the launch of a new domestic competition – the National Rugby Championship (August).
