Wallabies World Cup Flanker, David Pocock and Winger Adam Ashley-Cooper feature in a new community service announcement video with some of Australia’s elite sportsmen and women to help promote messages around safe, fair and inclusive sport for all.
The Play by the Rules video is a joint initiative between the Federal, State and Territory Governments.
The Play by the Rules Co-chair and new federal Race Discrimination Commissioner, Dr Helen Szoke, said it was the perfect time to reinforce the message of safe, fair and inclusive sport.
“As we gear up for the NRL/AFL finals, the Rugby World Cup and the Matildas playing for Olympic qualification, it is the perfect time for our sport stars to reinforce a clear message to everyone involved in sport, from the professional to grassroots level, that it should be fun, fair and inclusive,” Ms Szoke said.

Play by the Rules is a unique collaboration between the Australian Sports Commission, Australian Human Rights Commission, all state and territory departments of sport and recreation and anti-discrimination agencies, and the NSW Commission for Children and Young People.
The program provides free information, resources and online training for grassroots clubs and sporting organisations to ensure everyone involved in sport can do so in an enjoyable, safe environment, free from discrimination.
