The Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team Inc. would like to thank the following Partners for their outstanding support. Check out all the exciting partner activities and promotions underway during this big year of rugby.
Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing
The Australian Government is committed to supporting sport, particularly at the community level, and increasing Australians’ participation in physical and recreational activities to promote physical and mental health. This commitment contributes to a competitive and clean Australian sports sector, based on excellence, integrity and leadership, and encourages greater participation in sport by all Australians.
New South Wales Department of Sport & Recreation
Participation of Indigenous people continues to be a focus of our work. Cultural grants of $961,000 were made for Indigenous-specific programs during 2007–08, and the Western Sydney Arts Strategy included a new $100,000 Indigenous Arts Development fund. In May 2008 the inaugural Talented Aboriginal Athlete Program was held in regional New South Wales with participants from sports academies across New South Wales.
Santos has been supporting the Lloyd McDermott Rugby Development Team and Indigenous Rugby players for the past four years. Specifically, Santos has supported a youth development program for youth in the Northern Territory and Queensland regions.
Santos realises that these sporting activities can provide ongoing opportunities for the young people who participate and help them to develop skills that can be useful in other areas of life.
The Department’s role in building strong and harmonious communities also includes the work of the Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing to limit the social harm that can result from alcohol and gambling. For example, the Department’s Liquor Accord team currently supports 143 Liquor Accords state-wide. Liquor Accords bring together liquor-industry stakeholders, police and local government to identify and develop local solutions to local alcohol-related problems, and are playing a key part in delivering the State Plan priorities to reduce rates of crime and levels of antisocial behaviour.
International Sports Tours

Australian Sports Commission Indigenous Sport Program
The Australian Sports Commission provides funding to 16 national sporting organisations through the National Indigenous Sport Development Program (NISDP) to coordinate and deliver mainstream sport participation and development programs that directly engage Indigenous communities. The result is the right sport in the right community at the right time
South Sydney Aboriginal Resource Centre
This long standing Aboriginal organisation has been assisting Indiegous people in their community for over 10 years to participate in their chosen sports.
It is currently funded via a grant through the Department of Health and Ageing under the departments Indigenous Sports program. The organisation has allocated a grant to assist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of this region to participate in sport and recreation.
