Insurance - Coverage Benefits

(1) SPORT INJURY INSURANCE

Section A. Death and Permanent Disability.

(Capital Benefits)

This section provides a lump sum benefit to insured's that suffer permanent injury or death.

Death $100,000 or, if under 18 years, $10,000.
Permanent Quadriplegia or Paraplegia $400,000.
Other Permanent Disability (as per table) up to $300,000.

Section B. Weekly Benefits

Weekly Benefits are payable whilst you are temporarily totally disabled and wholly and continuously prevented from engaging in any occupation and/or attending school and/or studies. Categories include:
Income Earner - max. $300 per week; 28 day excess
Non-Income Earner (Domestic Help) - max. $300 per week; 14 day excess
Full Time Student (Home Tutor) - max. $300 per week; 14 day excess and
Parents Inconvenience Allowance - max. $100 per day; 2 day excess.

Section C. Non-Medicare Medical Expenses

Payment of 80% of non-Medicare medical expenses (incurred within 12 months of injury) after any reimbursement from your health fund. These expenses include private hospital accommodation, physiotherapy, pharmacy, ambulance and dentistry. The maximum benefit payable is $3,000. An Excess of $100 applies to each claim. (No excess for Ambulance only claims if the amount claimed is greater than $100).

The Health Insurance Act (Cth) 1973 does not permit the Insurer to contribute to any Medical Expenses covered (whether fully or partly) by Medicare (“the Medicare Gap”).

Section D. Travel and Accommodation Expenses

 Reimbursement of Travel and Accommodation Expenses, in regard to -

  • the injured person - expenses incurred in travelling to hospital or a place of treatment where the travel is in excess of 100 kms
  • emergency attendance on the injured person by the injured person's family members which results in the need for overnight accommodation in either a registered hotel or motel.

Limited to 80% of the actual Travel and Accommodation Expenses, with Accommodation Expenses not exceeding $150 per night. Subject to a maximum of  $1,000 in total.

(2) SPORTS PUBLIC AND PRODUCTS LIABILITY

This policy is broken in two sections and provides protections for legal liabilities as summarised below. It should also be noted that this policy excludes liabilities arising from the business of a "Licenced Club".

Under this section your club and it's Insured Persons are insured for legal liability in respect of bodily injury or property damage arising during the period of insurance and caused by an occurrence in connection with rugby. (NOTE: the Liability policy excludes liabilities arising from the business of a ‘Licensed Club’).

The insurance provided is for $20,000,000 any one occurrence. There is a $1,000 excess on each and every claim.

Section B. Products Liability

Under this section provides coverage for legal liability in respect of bodily injury or property damage arising during the period of insurance and caused by products sold or supplied by you.

The insurance provided is for $20,000,000 any one occurrence. There is a $1,000 excess on each and every claim.

(3) SPORTS PROFESSIONAL INDEMNITY

Under this section provides coverage for legal liability for breach of professional duty in the sport by reason of an act, error or omission committed by or on behalf on the Insured. (NOTE: This policy does not cover professional advice provided by qualified Doctors).

The insurance provided is for $10,000,000 in total for any one policy period. There is a $1,000 excess on each and every claim.
