Community Grants

Community funding grants available for not-for-profit organisations, clubs and community groups in the areas of sport and recreation, arts and culture, disability, education, environment, health and cultural diversity. 

Grants are provided at all levels of government; from local and regional, state/territory government including departments of sport and recreations and federal government, including Australian Sports Commission. Grants are also available through private companies/organisations for community benefit.

Volunteer Grants 2013 Australian Federal Government National Grants between $1,000 and $5,000 Closed 24 April 2013. Click here for more information
Local Sporting Champions Grants Program Australian Federal Government National $500 for individuals; $3,000 for teams. Ongoing Click here for more information
Elite Indigenous Travel and Accommodation Assistance Program Australian Sports Commission National Funding is available to indigenous sports people for travel and accommodation expenses up to $1500 per person for national events and $4000 per person for international events. Funding to help kids participate
Queensland Government QLD Eligible children and young people can apply for a voucher valued up to $150 redeemed from registered sport or recreation club. Round two opens on 15 July 2013. Click here for more information.
Get Going – Funding to help clubs grow  Queensland Government QLD Funding of up to $10,000 for projects that create opportunities for more Queenslanders to become members. Round two opens on 15 July 2013.

Get Playing – Funding to improve facilities  Queensland Government QLD Up to $100,000 in funding to assist local sport and recreation organisations with facility development  Closed Click here for more information
Sport and Recreation Events Program NSW Office of Community Sport and Recreation NSW

Grants are capped at:

  • $30,000 for International Sporting Events, 
  • $15,000 for National Championships; and
  • $10,000 for Regional and Rural Community Participation Events.

Participation and Facility Program NSW Office of Community Sport and Recreation NSW

Grants are capped at

  • Facility projects $50,000, and
  • Participation projects $10,000.

Emergency Grant to Replace Essential Sports Equipment Sport and Recreation Victoria VIC

50% of the replacement cost of the equipment lost.

Max per grant: $2,000  (excluding GST)
