The Australian Rugby Union (ARU) conducted a National Facilities Audit (pdf - 181kb) of community rugby clubs across Australia during 2010.
This was the first time that such an exercise has been undertaken nationally and provides a unique opportunity to gather critical information to assist in developing a comprehensive national facilities strategy for community rugby.
The aim of the audit was to identify existing facilities infrastructure, to assess Australian Rugby’s ability to meet both present and future demands, and provide club specific information on:
- existing facilities
- facilities tenure/usage and maintenance; and
- facilities grants and planning.
The Key Audit Findings were utilised in the development of the National Facilities Community Rugby Strategy.
