Dear Rugby Community

On behalf of Australian Rugby Union, I would like to personally thank the passionate and dedicated people who volunteer their time, skills and energy to Rugby each week.

With National Volunteer Week drawing to a close, it is appropriate that the lifeblood of our game is given thanks for their hard work and dedication.
More than 38,000 volunteers dedicate countless hours to help ensure the smooth running of Rugby in Australia. Across all levels of the game, from coaches to referees, managers to committee members, running the tuck shop to running the club, the willingness and support of this army of volunteers makes Rugby what it is.
With participation figures reaching all-time highs of more than 320,000 registered players in Australia last year, there has never been a greater need for volunteers to help run Rugby at every level, and I am overawed by the commitment  and willingness displayed.
As they say at Volunteering Australia, ‘Thanks a Million!’

Thank you,
Bill Pulver
CEO, Australian Rugby Union
