Insurance Levy Summary 2010/11

The Australian Rugby Union has finalised renewal terms with QBE Insurance for the ARU Sports Injury and Liability Insurance Policyfor the period 1st March 2011 – 1st March 2012.
We are pleased to advise that QBE Insurance has agreed that there will be no premium increases for clubs again next season! This is the 8th successive year that there has been no increase in premiums. In real terms, this means that premiums have decreased over this period; whilst at the same time the benefits to the Policy have continued to increase.
Insurance Levies:  (same as previous year)

Senior Players Cost per team (inc. Stamp Duty & GST)
Men & Women (15-aside) $1,960 per team
U19's / U19 Laws $1,060 per team
Women (10-aside) $870 per team
Junior Players  (U18’s & below) Cost per team (inc. Stamp Duty & GST)

U7’s and below (non-tackle Rugby) No cost*

 * Insurance levies for U7’s and below (non-tackle) will be provided at no cost to Rugby clubs across Australia. These savings should be passed onto parents/participants allowing them to participate in these introductory ages at minimal cost. Clubs will need to complete the appropriate section on their invoice to allocate this payment to ARU.

Note: It is compulsory for all teams competing in competitions managed by the ARU and/or member unions to participate in the ARU National Insurance Scheme.

Policy Improvements:

QBE Insurance has also offered the following Policy improvements to the ARU Sports Injury and Liability Insurance without additional cost, including:

1. Additional benefit for $5,000 Funeral Expenses;

2. Club Management (Directors & Officers) Liability Insurance to be included in programme for all Clubs.
