Community Grants Webpage
Community funding grants are available for not-for-profit organisations, clubs and community groups in the areas of sport and recreation, arts and culture, disability, education, environment, health and cultural diversity.
Grants are provided at State and Federal level of Government and through private organisations for community benefit. Local councils can also provide funding for a variety of projects but normally have to be approached directly (normally through the council’s Sport and Recreation Advisor). Grants are a great way of raising monetary support for: facility projects for your local club, travel costs for teams or individuals, volunteer costs, and a range of other initiatives.

Dependent upon the project. $92 million allocated last year.
Health Promotion Innovation Fund
Up to $15,000
Round 2 closes 16 February 2015
Gambling Community Benefit Fund
$500 - $35,000
Round 4: 30th November 2014
Young Athlete Assistance Program
Regional Event Support
$10,000 - $100,000
Round 28 closes at 5.00pm on 13 February 2015.
Round 28 applies to events that will occur between 1 October 2015 – 31 March 2017, and there are two rounds per year.
Significant Sporting Events
Event Assistance Grants: Up to $20,000
Event Development Grants: Up to $300,000
Rounds open until Feb 2018. Existing rounds close on the following dates:
Emergency Grant: Sporting and Recreational Equipment
Up to $2,000
Up to 3 months after the loss or damage
Up to $1,000
Round 2 Closing Date: Thursday 5 February 2015
Elite Athlete Travel Grants
Applications close 2 December 2014.
Community Benefit Grant
Department for Communities and Social Inclusion
Up to $45,000 (average of $10,000)
Ongoing with four funding rounds per year. Closing dates for each round are:

Dependent upon the project.
National Representative Fund
Tasmanian Institute of Sport
National / International Sport Championships Program
Maximum of $6,000 per organisation.
Closes 25 March 2015, or when funds are exhausted.

Up to $5,000 with organisations needing to demonstrate a significant contribution (up to 25%) towards the cost of the project/event and/or in-kind contribution.
