Rebels release Paul Alo-Emile for ITM Cup

The RaboDirect Rebels and Australian Rugby Union have released Rebels prop Paul Alo-Emile to play in the ITM Cup.

Alo-Emile will play for Waikato, and is likely to partner 2014 Rebels signing Toby Smith in the front row.

The 22 year old recently re-committed to the Rebels until the end of 2015, starting in three matches this season, with a total of 19 Super Rugby Caps to his name.

"This is my third season in a professional Rugby environment," said Alo-Emile. "I would now like to challenge myself and be ready to be a consistent Super Rugby starter for the Rebels in the 2014 season.

"I have enjoyed my matches here in Melbourne's Dewar Shield and the competition is really growing. I am very grateful that the Rebels have given me this opportunity to play at an established and proud ITM Club like Waikato."

Alo-Emile joined the New Zealand provincial competition this month, returning for the commencement of the Rebels 2014 pre-season in October.

Round five of the Asteron Life Super Rugby competition has concluded with the RaboDirect Melbourne Rebels and the Aquis Brumbies emerging victorious in their Australian derby clashes against the Western Force and St.George Queensland Reds respectively.
