The RaboDirect Rebels and Australian Rugby Union have released Rebels prop Paul Alo-Emile to play in the ITM Cup.

Alo-Emile will play for Waikato, and is likely to partner 2014 Rebels signing Toby Smith in the front row.

The 22 year old recently re-committed to the Rebels until the end of 2015, starting in three matches this season, with a total of 19 Super Rugby Caps to his name.

"This is my third season in a professional Rugby environment," said Alo-Emile. "I would now like to challenge myself and be ready to be a consistent Super Rugby starter for the Rebels in the 2014 season.

"I have enjoyed my matches here in Melbourne's Dewar Shield and the competition is really growing. I am very grateful that the Rebels have given me this opportunity to play at an established and proud ITM Club like Waikato."

Alo-Emile joined the New Zealand provincial competition this month, returning for the commencement of the Rebels 2014 pre-season in October.
