Prior to her international debut at the IRB Women’s Sevens World Series even in Houston in 2013, Ellia Green had never played a game of Sevens.

Green catapulted into the international spotlight, after attending an Australian Rugby Union Pathway to Gold Talent ID camp in Melbourne in 2012.

From there, she was invited to a second Talent ID camp at the Australian Institute of Sport, before finally being one of five invited to an Australian Sevens selection camp.

Green excelled in her debut, scoring three tries, including the match winner in extra time against New Zealand in the third v fourth playoff.

Green previously represented Australia in athletics at the World School Games in Doha, Qatar, in 2009.
