A former Australian Rugby League representative, Jess Palmer was drawn to Sevens by the chance to represent her country at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Her first foray into Sevens was at the Kiama Sevens in 2011, before coach Chris Lane identified her as an Australian Sevens prospect and invited her to compete for the Aussie Pearls at both the Central Coast and Noosa Sevens.
After just three Sevens tournaments, the former Rugby League World Cup representative was named to the Qantas Women’s Sevens to compete in her first international tournament at the IRB Women’s Sevens World Series in Dubai.
Palmer is the daughter of NRL trainer Ron Palmer.
