The daughter of well-known Fijian international Sevens scrumhalf Isimeli Batibasaga, cousin of former Qantas Wallabies winger Lote Tuqiri and former Waratah Nemani Nadolo, it could be said that Iliseva Batibasaga has Rugby in her veins.
A member of the 2008 Australian Sevens side that earned qualification to the 2009 Sevens Rugby World Cup, Iliseva has competed on the international stage in both the Sevens and 15s forms of the game, including as a member of the Wallaroos at the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2010.
She also works as a childcare assistant at a pre-school and is studying for a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) via distance education. Iliseva also found herself on the world Rugby stage in 2006, when she sang the national anthem at the Women’s Rugby World Cup.
