Winner of the 2012 ARU Women’s Player of the Year award, Emilee Cherry has burst onto the Australian Sevens scene thanks to her blistering pace and natural read of the game.

Named the 2011 Darling Downs Senior Sports Star of the Year, Cherry made her debut for the Australia Sevens during the first-ever IRB-Sanctioned Women’s Sevens Challenge Cup in Dubai.

Prior to earning a spot in the Qantas Women’s Sevens, Cherry captained the Australian Under-20 Touch Football side and competed with the Australia Sevens domestic side, the Aussie Pearls.

Cherry’s involvement in the Qantas Women’s Sevens has grown in 2013 as she was rewarded for her performances with the captaincy for the first day of the IRB Women’s Sevens World Series event in China.
