A former Samoan Under-20 representative, fullback Peter Schuster was called into the Australian Sevens in 2013 following impressive performances in domestic Sevens tournaments while playing for Northern Suburbs.
Schuster caught the eye of Australian coach Michael O'Connor while playing for Northern Suburbs and was invited to train with the wider Australian Sevens squad.
Injury then opened the selection door was Schuster as he was brought into the Qantas Men's Sevens squad for the Tokyo Sevens as a late replacement.
Schuster is not the only Rugby representative in his family as his father, David Schuster, earned four caps for Samoa in the 1980s and his uncle, John Schuster, is a dual-code, dual-country international.
John Schuster earned 10 caps for the All Blacks between 1988-89 and three caps for Samoa in 1999. He also played rugby league with the Newcastle Knights and captained Samoa in the 1995 Rugby League World Cup.
