Qantas Women's Sevens take on the world in Amsterdam

The Qantas Women’s Sevens are gearing up to take on the world at the Amsterdam Sevens this weekend.

Running 19-20 May, the Amsterdam Sevens features 12 international teams, including five from the recent IRB Women’s Sevens Challenge Cup - Australia, Canada, England, Netherlands and USA.

The event will be the last of the season for the Qantas Women’s Sevens, who headed to Holland following a fourth place finish in the Women’s Sevens Challenge Cup in London last weekend.

The Qantas Women’s Sevens will look to end the season on a high, with their best result so far this year being runners up in Hong Kong.

The competition will be fierce even in the pool stage, as Australia have been seeded in Pool C, alongside hosts the Netherlands, who defeated them 14-12 in the Cup quarter-final in London last week. The Qantas Women’s Sevens will also face Germany and Scotland in pool play. Pool A features England, USA, South Africa and Wales, while Pool B includes Canada, Spain, France and Ireland.
