Pool Draw confirmed for next week's Tokyo Sevens

The IRB has confirmed the pool draw for round 7 of the HSBC Sevens World Series, the Tokyo Sevens on 31 March - 1 April 2012.

The draw was made live on television before the Cup final of the Cathay Pacific/HSBC Hong Kong Sevens, the sixth round of the 2011/12 season, won by Fiji.

As Hong Kong champions, Fiji top pool A at the Prince Chichibu Memorial Ground but they face a tough trio of matches against England, France and hosts, Japan.

New Zealand reached their fifth Cup final of the Series in Hong Kong and, as runners-up, head Pool B and face matches against great rivals Australia, USA and Hong Kong.

Argentina were drawn top of Pool C and they face matches against Wales, Kenya and Russia.

South Africa, who finished third in Hong Kong, headed the draw in Pool D, where they will face Samoa, Scotland and Portugal.

Following Hong Kong, reigning Series champions New Zealand now lead the standings on 111, just two clear of Fiji on 109. South Africa are third, ahead of England and Samoa.
