Road to Rio Rugby 7s Championship

The NSW Open Schoolboys “Road to Rio” Rugby 7s Championship Final Series was held yesterday at St Gregory’s College, Campbelltown.
With a strong field of six school representing both metropolitan and regional NSW the day saw some entertaining and highly skilled rugby.
These schools were:
- St Gregory’s College, Campbelltown
- St Stanislaus College, Bathurst
- Hills Sports High School, Seven Hills
- Callaghan Senior College, Newcastle
- Patrician Brothers College, Blacktown
- Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School, Tamworth
The eventual winners were St Gregory’s College, Campbelltown, who defeated the very gallant Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School, Tamworth. Both of these schools will be progressing to the National Final series held on the Gold Coast in November.

The tournament was conducted by the NSW Community Rugby Development team and supported by the NSW Referees Association. ARU HPU personnel were also present to cast their eye over the players.
