77 Days Until Gold Coast Sevens

Australian Rugby Union today marked the 77-day countdown to the inaugural Gold Coast Sevens –Fever Pitch tournament with the announcement of the 16 countries that will battle it out in November at Skilled Park.

The two-day event, which will kick off the HSBC Sevens World Series 2011/12, will be attended by seven sides located in the Pacific region, four from Europe, two from the Americas, two from Africa and one from Asia.

Australia, New Zealand, Samoa, Fiji, England, Scotland, Wales, France, USA, Argentina, Kenya, South Africa, Japan, Tonga, Papua New Guinea and Niue will all make the trip to the Gold Coast in November with the aim of claiming the inaugural Fever Pitch title.

With just 77-days to go until the Gold Coast Sevens – Fever Pitch tournament kicks off, planning is well underway and fans are being encouraged to mark down Tuesday 18 October in their diary to ensure they don’t miss out on grabbing one of the most sought after tickets in town.

Tickets to the inaugural Gold Coast Event go on sale to the public on Tuesday 18 October through Ticketek and start at just $39 for a Day One Adult pass, while a family of four (2 adults and 2 children or 1 adult and 3 children) can pick up a two-day pass for just $158, which is less than $20 per person per day.

From 9am on Tuesday 18 October fans can purchase their tickets via the ticketek website – www.ticketek.com.au, a full list of ticket prices for the two-day event is below.

Australia and NZ participate in strongest ever Oceania Sevens
The Federation of Oceania Rugby Unions (FORU) has announced that the 2014 Oceania Sevens will be played between 3-4 October alongside the Noosa International Sevens on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
