DANIEL VICKERMAN made a triumphant return to the Wallabies in 2007, starting ten out of 11 international matches, including four 80 minute efforts during his second Rugby World Cup in France. After aggravating a previous shoulder injury during the Test against Wales in Cardiff in November 2006, Vickerman was out of the game for seven months, missing the entire 2007 Super 14 season after undergoing a shoulder reconstruction.
Represented the South African Under 21s team.
Moved to Australia and toured New Zealand with the Australian Under 21s after a standout first season with Sydney University in the NSW Premier Rugby competition.
Contracted to the Brumbies where he made his debut against the Sharks in Durban playing in a total of seven Super 12 matches.
Was still eligible to play for South Africa or Australia, but his fate was sealed when he was selected to play for Australia A against Canada before making his Test debut as a replacement against France in Sydney.
Played in 11 of the 14 Wallabies Tests predominantly as a replacement behind Nathan Sharpe and Justin Harrison and signed with the Waratahs following his Super 14 season with the Brumbies.
Ended the Test season as a starting lock with the Wallabies, in the absence of Nathan Sharpe on the Spring Tour of France and the UK, having played every match during the winter as a replacement
Was limited to just four Test appearances due to a recurring shoulder injury.
Played 10 of 13 Tests for the Wallabies after playing a pivotal role in the Waratahs second consecutive Super 14 semi finals campaign. Was vice captain of the Wallabies for all nine winter Tests before leaving the Spring Tour after only one match with a shoulder injury.
Major shoulder surgery forced him to miss the entire 2007 Super 14 season. Returned to the Wallabies for the domestic Test season, and played four 80 minutes matches at 2007 Rugby World Cup in France.
