QUADE COOPER is a graduate of Queensland Rugby's High Performance program and made his debut for the Reds in 2007 at the age of 18 in just his first year out of school. Cooper, along with Kurtley Beale and Andrew Barrett were the first to break the record for most Australian schoolboy caps, earning nine each. Cooper grew up in Waikato, New Zealand, and was snapped up by the ARU-funded National Talent Squad when his family moved to Brisbane while he was 15.
He predominantly plays flyhalf but showed his versatility when interchanging with Berrick Barnes at inside centre during his challenging debut season in 2007. Of Maori parentage, Cooper was a regular for the Reds again during this year’s Investec Super 14, before representing Australia at the inaugural Under-20 World Cup in Wales.
2005 Member of Australian Schoolboys squad.
2006 Member of Australian Schoolboys squad, one of three most capped Schoolboys of all time.
2007 Named in train-on squad for Wallaby and Australia A campaign; debut for Reds in Super 14 against Crusaders in Christchurch; member of Australian Under 19 squad for iRB World Championships.
2008 Established himself as a regular for the Reds before representing Australia at the inaugural iRB Under-20 World Cup in Wales. Then selected for the Qantas Wallabies Spring Tour.
