JULIAN HUXLEY’s return to Canberra proved a masterstroke for the 27 year old utility, playing a senior role in the Brumbies’ 2007 Super 14 campaign before finally breaking through for Test selection. He played all but one of the winter Tests at fullback for the Wallabies and has played flyhalf and both centre positions at provincial level.

1998: Moved from Sydney to Canberra to study Commercial Law at the Australian National University and represented the Australian Under 19s.

2000: Represented the Australian Under 21s.

2002: Made his Super 12 debut for the Brumbies against the Highlanders in Canberra and went on to play five matches from the reserves bench.

2003: Joined the Reds and debuted for his new team against the Brumbies. He went on to earn 10 caps in his first season in Queensland playing at flyhalf, inside centre and fullback.
He was also awarded the Pilecki Medal as the Reds Players’ Player.

2004: Missed the entire Super 12 season with a broken jaw and knee injury, but later joined Northland on loan for the NPC Competition.

2005: Represented Australia A against the Junior All Blacks in Canberra after playing every Super 12 match for the Reds.

2007: Rejoined the Brumbies where he played in all of the team’s Super 14 matches and took his career pointscoring tally past 250. He was then selected in the Wallabies winter squad and made his Test debut at fullback in the opening Test of the year against Wales in Sydney.

He played five more Tests at fullback with Chris Latham injured, scored fourteen points against Fiji in Perth and capped his debut season of Test rugby with Australian Rookie of the Year honours.
