Wallabies selectors showed tremendous faith in 2006 Australian Rookie of the Year Greg HOLMES by including him in the 30-man squad for the World Cup despite his absence from the majority of the Super 14 season and entire winter Test series after undergoing a shoulder reconstruction. He is aiming to regain the Wallabies No.1 jersey he occupied for the majority of last year.

2004: Represented Australia at the Under 21 World Championship in Scotland after playing for Queensland A and the Queensland Academy of Sport Under 19s.

2005: Made his Super 12 debut for the Reds as a replacement in the opening match of the season and went on to play in all eleven matches, starting on four occasions.

After spending time in Camp Wallaby early in the year he represented Australia A against the Junior All Blacks in Canberra and Sydney, before winning selection in the Spring Tour squad where he played against the French Barbarians and then made his Test debut as a replacement against France in Marseille.

2006: Started in all 13 matches for the Reds at loosehead prop and then started the first eight Tests of the International season, before undertaking a physical development program during the Wallabies’ South African tour. He was then ruled out of the Spring Tour with a neck injury.

He was also named the Suncorp Rookie of the Year at the John Eales Medal night in Sydney.

2007: Was limited to just three Super 14 matches for the Reds after undergoing a shoulder reconstruction and was unavailable for the winter Test campaign for the Wallabies.

Off Field: Greg has completed a Certicificate III in Career Orientated Participation
