STEPHEN HOILES became a regular feature for the Wallabies in 2007, putting behind him a disrupted start to his Test career. The skilful back rower had played three Tests in as many years before playing in all seven Tests this winter. He offers versatility across the three back row positions and is an established lineout option.

2001: Represented the Australian Sevens team.

2004: Was named as a bolter for the Spring Tour, picked on his strong Club form for Randwick after playing only four Super 12 matches and two tour matches in his debut season with the Waratahs.

He went on to play an important role in the Australia A victory over the French Barbarians in Bordeaux before making his Test debut as a replacement against Scotland in Glasgow.

2005: Was selected in the Wallaby squad for the domestic season only to suffer a season ending knee injury at training leading up to the first Test of the year against Samoa.

2006: Played in all three back row positions for the Waratahs during the Super 14 before linking with the Brumbies where he was a standout in their victorious APC (Australian Provincial Championship) campaign.

He then won a place in the 37-man Spring Tour squad and played all three mid-week matches before securing his first Wallaby cap in two years when he came on as a replacement against Wales at Millenium Stadium.

2007: Was a standout in his debut season with the Brumbies at Number 8, forcing his way into a regular position in the Wallabies Match 22. He was awarded man-of-the-match honours in his debut appearance in the starting XV against South Africa in Sydney.

Off Field: Stephen has enrolled in the Sports Administration Unit with Curtin University via Open Universities, Australia
