Ben Tune's career is filled with stunning highlights but injury has never been far behind. Despite chronic knee problems, Tune has played 46 Tests for Australia since his debut in 1996 and after two years out of the Wallaby squad returned last season only to run into injury problems again.
Married with two children, Tune owns a Bank of Queensland franchise in Brisbane and is also heavily involved with the Pivot Management Group.
-1994 Represented the Australian Schoolboys and Under 19s.
Made his state debut for Queensland against Otago.
Made his Super 12 debut for the Reds and then went on to make his Test debut against Wales in Sydney, scoring a try in his second match against Canada.
Played in 12 Tests for the Wallabies, scoring seven tries.
Broke his jaw in a pre-season match but made a remarkable comeback by round five of the Super 12 season and then scored seven tries, including a hat trick against England in the first five Wallaby Tests, but by the end of the Bledisloe and Tri Nations he had succumbed to knee tendonitis.
Played in 11 Tests for the Wallabies including the World Cup Final against France where he scored a try and was a standout performer.
Missed most of the 2000 Super 12 season because of injury but returned for the Tri Nations series, only to suffer another injury in his first few minutes on the field against the Springboks in Durban.
-2002 Played only seven Tests because of injury, including snapping his hamstring in the opening Test of the 2002 Spring Tour against Argentina.
-2004 Missed almost two entire seasons due to injury.
Selected in the Wallaby squad after only a handful of appearances for the Reds in the Super 12, but injury again ruled him out of any Test football.
Has played on both the wing and at outside centre for the Reds, adding valuable on field leadership and experience.
