After being selected on the 2005 Spring Tour but failing to take the field due to a groin injury, Adam Freier has continually worked hard to establish himself as the Waratahs Number 1 hooker this season. Under pressure from teammate Tatafu Polota-Nau, Freier started in every match this season for the Waratahs on their way to the Super 14 finals.

A recognised leader, Freier captained the Australian Under 21s and is renowned for his commitment and on-field leadership. He led the Waratahs on the 2004 tour of Argentina, and now has more than 50 Super Rugby caps in experience.

1998 Was selected for the Australian Schoolboys out of Waverly College in Sydney.

2000-2001 Signed with the ACT Brumbies where he made his state debut against Queensland as well as captaining the Australian Under 21s.

2002 Made his Super 12 debut with the Brumbies and then Test debut against Argentina on the opening match of the Spring Tour and then started in two of the remaining three games.

2003 Moved to the NSW Waratahs and came on as a replacement for Brendan Cannon in the opening two matches of the Tri Nations.

2004 Named in the Wallaby 22 against South Africa in Perth but did not play. He captained NSW on their tour to Argentina.

2005 After starting in seven out of 12 matches for the Waratahs he made a return to Test rugby as a replacement in the last Test of the Tri Nations against New Zealand in Auckland.

2006 Started at hooker in every match for the Waratahs including scoring two tries in a Man-of-the-Match performance against the Cats in Week 5.
