Biography

Matt Lucas is another experienced player returning to the Waratahs in 2016 after a stint of rugby in Italy. Lucas first joined the Waratahs in 2013, signing an Extended Playing Squad contract together with his Manly teammate, Sam Lane and fellow Waratah, Jed Holloway. He’s already earned 12 caps for the Waratahs and will no doubt be keen to add to his one Super Rugby try in 2016. Lucas has been a key asset for the Manly Marlins across the last few seasons, becoming one of the most dominant scrumhalves in the Shute Shield competition.Lucas too has previously been a member of the Sevens team and was selected in 2013 with Bernard Foley for the Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow. He also represented his country at the Junior World Championships in 2011 and 2012 in the national U20 side.
