Versatile back Jono Lance was a welceome addition the Force ahead o the 2016 season. The former Australian U20 and Australian Sevens player made his Super Rugby debut for the Reds in their 2011 title-winning season and earned 21 caps before joining the Waratahs in 2013 and featured on nine occasions in their victorious 2014 season. The versatile Lance joins the Force in stellar form after being named the NRC Player of the Year thanks to his exploits for the NSW Country Eagles.
The 2015 Buildcorp NRC Player of the Year, Lance returned to top level rugby in superb form, very quickly putting two injury-plagued years with the Waratahs behind him in readiness to cross the country and resurrect his Super Rugby career at the Western Force.
The competition’s most accurate goal-kicker, missing just five of his 29 attempts at three-point conversion, Lance’s tactical kicking, along with his vision and game management were crucial in Country’s late season form, in which they missed the semi-finals by just one point.
