Biography
Regarded as one of the fastest backs in the Australian rugby, Clunies-Ross' on-field agility and ability to find the try line delivered an impressive 14 tries during a breakout first season of senior rugby, culminating in him being awarded the 2014 Shute Shield Rookie of the Year and selection for the Stars in the inaugural NRC, and earning him a place in the Waratahs’ Extended Training Squad for the 2015 season. He was on track to replicate his NRC form in the competition’s second season, only to suffer an horrific broken ankle minutes after scoring a try in the Stars’ Round 2 win over Queensland Country. A NSW Under-20’s representative in 2014, Clunies-Ross remains a young player to watch.
