Biography
Newly signed to the Waratahs in 2015, Angus Ta’avao will be a welcome addition to the team’s forward pack, bringing with him a strong combination of dominant defence, mobility and maturity. The 120k forward is another Waratah prop will be looking to secure his 50th Super Rugby cap this year. Ta’avao has a wealth of Super Rugby experience behind him already, notching two tries and 48 caps for the Blues, after making his debut with the side back in 2012 against the Chiefs. His ITM Cup debut in 2010 fell in the same year he represented his home country as part of the New Zealand U20s side that won the Junior World Championships, taking the honours as captain during the first match of the tournament. Ta'avao is one of two Kiwi signings for the Waratahs in 2016, together with former All Black, and his flatmate in Sydney, Zac Guildford.
