Men of Gold fans responding to our latest poll on www.rugby.com.au firmly believe the Wallabies will win their first Test on South African soil since 2000 on their upcoming tour.
Depending on the result this weekend between the Springboks and the All Blacks in Cape Town, the Qantas Wallabies must win at least one Test in South Africa to have any chance of winning their first Tri-Nations since 2001.
If the All Blacks beat the Springboks on Saturday, without a bonus point, it would be mathematically possible for the Wallabies to lose both Tests in South Africa and still win the Tri-Nations if they beat New Zealand in Brisbane on September 13.
But if the Springboks beat New Zealand then the Wallabies must win one of the Tests in the Republic or South Africa will claim their first Tri-Nations title since 2004.
The good news is of the 1441 fans who responded to the poll - Can the Wallabies win their first Test in South Africa since 2000 on their upcoming tour ?- 64.1% (923 voters) believe the Wallabies will win at least one Test against the Springboks.
Of those 33.9% (488 voters) believe the Wallabies will win both Tests while 30.2% (435 voters) thought the Men of Gold would win one Test.
In contrast only 35.9% (517 voters) thought the Wallabies would return empty-handed from the Republic once again.
Let’s hope the vote of confidence gives the Wallabies an extra edge when they face the World Champs in Durban on August 23rd and Johannesburg the following weekend.
