History repeats at National Youth Sevens

As was the case in 2016, the QLD Red and NSW Blue have taken out the National Youth Sevens Championships. Both teams shut out their opposition in the final, as they went undefeated through the tournament.

History has repeated at the National Youth Sevens, with Queensland Red and NSW Blue taking out the titles.

Queensland Red got the better of NSW Blue in the girls’ final, beating their southern rivals 26-0 to claim back-to-back titles. 

ACT edged WA 14-12 in the third place final, while Queensland White finished fifth, ahead of the National Indigenous girls. 

NSW White finished seventh, while the NT bested South Australia in the ninth-place final. NSW Blue claimed the boys title. Photo: QRU MediaNSW Blue defended their boys’ title, beating Victoria 24-7. 

The ACT finished third, beating NSW White 50-0 in their playoff, while Queensland White took fifth, 26-5, over WA. 

The Indigenous boys edged Queensland Red 24-21 for seventh and South Australia beat Northern Territory 33-10 for ninth.
