The first Australia U20s camp this year will feature four Sevens players, ahead of April's Oceania Championship.

Henry Hutchison, Simon Kennewell, Tate McDermott and Liam McNamara will all be part of a 48-man camp assembling in the first weekend of April, two weeks out from their first tournament.

Kennewell and McNamara both featured in last year's U20s campaign, but Hutchison was tied up with preparations for the Rio Olympics.

The lineup has 14 returning players, after fielding a relatively young team last season, including Super Rugby capped players Izaia Perese and Sione Tuipulotu.

"This camp will be the first opportunity we have to get content across to our players, as well as skill evaluation and execution. It will be a high intensity camp and we need to tick the box on a lot of critical stuff," head coach Simon Cron said.

“We will be putting guys into different scenarios and seeing how they play as well as start to develop our culture and identity as a group.

“The door is still open for players in the Super U20s Championship as we are always watching and looking for players who will suit the way we want to play the game.”
