The Brumbies have moved to secure exciting prospects Jordan Jackson-Hope and Faaleleli Sione for the 2017 season as Extended Playing Squad members.
Both Australia U20s players, the pair have progressed through the Canberra representative ranks, impressing at every stage.
Jackson-Hope captained the Brumbies Colts U20s side during the inaugural Super U20s Championships before making his Super Rugby debut against the Melbourne Rebels earlier this year.
The inside centre is sure to receive plenty more opportunities in 2017, with Matt Toomua moving to Leicester in the UK Premiership for the 2016-17 season.
“Having a taste of Super Rugby this year just drives me to continue working hard and developing my game and I’m very proud to be doing that here in Canberra with the Brumbies,” he said.
Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham said thrilled to have Jackson-Hope join the squad ahead of the new season in 2017.
“We saw this year that he is up to the challenge of Super Rugby,” Larkham said.
“We’ve been very impressed with his performances at training and on the field all year.
Faalelei is an up and coming prop who will continue his development alongside some of Australia’s best, including recent Wallabies debutant Allan Alaalatoa and Test starter Scott Sio
“Faalelei is a prop with great game knowledge and vision around the field,” Larkham said.
“He’s got good skills for a big man and we are hoping he continues to progress his game over the pre-season alongside the likes of Ben Alexander, Scott Sio and Allan Alaalatoa.
“We’ve seen over the early rounds of the NRC that he is ready to make the next step in his career.
“Having another Canberra junior join the squad is a great reflection of the Brumbies Pathways Program, which is helping to develop our juniors into elite players."
